Mission Ready Armory FFL
Frequently Asked

How this works — answered.

We run by appointment, not out of a storefront. That's unusual for a lot of buyers — so here are the questions we get most, answered plainly.

How does a reservation work? +

When you click Reserve on a firearm — or Request on an optic, accessory, or custom mag — you're sending us a message that you want that item set aside for you. We reply within one business day, usually same day, to confirm availability, answer questions, and figure out next steps. Nothing is charged until you've confirmed the order with us.

Can I pay online? +

It depends what you're buying. Firearms and ammunition must be paid for in person at pickup — federal law requires firearms to transfer in person with a completed ATF Form 4473 and a background check, and we sell ammo the same way. Optics, accessories, and custom mags can be ordered for shipping or local pickup; we'll send you payment options when you inquire.

What forms of payment do you accept? +

Cash, credit/debit card, and check. Card transactions include a small processing fee; cash has no fee.

Where do we meet for pickup? +

We coordinate a time and location when you reserve. We operate by appointment, not out of a public storefront, so everything is arranged one-on-one. You'll know exactly where to go before you leave your house.

What do I need to bring? +

A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID with your current address. If your ID address is out of date, bring a utility bill or lease with your current address as a supporting document. That's it.

How long does the background check take? +

The background check is run in person at your pickup appointment. Most NICS checks come back instantly — you'll know within a few minutes. Occasionally the system delays a check for up to 3 business days; in that case we'll contact you when you're cleared to come back and pick up. A small number of checks require further review beyond that.

What if the background check is denied or delayed? +

If you're delayed, federal law lets the transfer complete after 3 business days at our discretion — we'll communicate with you. If you're denied, the firearm can't transfer and we'll help you understand the NICS appeal process. Either way, no money changes hands until the transfer is legally complete.

How do I know you're a real FFL dealer? +

We're federally licensed under ATF Form 7 (FFL 01 — Dealer). Our license number is listed in the footer of every page and on file with the ATF. You're welcome to verify it directly with the ATF or ask to see a copy at pickup.

Can I buy a handgun if I live out of state? +

By federal law, handguns can only be transferred to residents of the state where the dealer is located. Long guns (rifles, shotguns) can be transferred to out-of-state residents as long as it complies with both states' laws. If you're out of state, contact us first and we'll walk through what's possible.

Do you ship firearms? +

Firearms cannot be shipped directly to a buyer's home. If you're an out-of-area buyer, we can sometimes ship a long gun to an FFL in your state for pickup there. Handguns require the buyer to be local. Contact us and we'll sort out options.

What can you ship? +

Optics, accessories (lights, holsters, slings, cleaning gear, magazines), and custom mags ship to your door anywhere in the U.S. Firearms and ammunition are in-person pickup only — federal and state law restrict shipping for those.

Do you do custom magazines? +

Yes — we customize mags cosmetically with engraving, finishes, colors, and custom paint work. Pricing depends on the work; see the Custom Mags page or contact us for a quote. We can also pair a custom mag with any firearm purchase.

Can I reserve something and change my mind? +

Yes. A reservation is a hold, not a commitment. If something changes before pickup, just let us know. No cancellation fee. Once the background check is run and payment is made, the transfer is final.

Do you buy, trade, or consign firearms? +

Contact us with details. We'll look at trade-ins and consignments case by case, especially if it's something we'd actually stock.
